Week Two with Extension by Ellie Rogers

At the beginning of any new endeavor there is almost always a ‘fish out of water’ experience. This is inevitable, being thrust out of one’s comfort zone into the unknown and uncharted. Working with extension under the guidance of Dr. Kurt Vollmer at the Wye has been a wonderful experience in my short time there so far, however, that feeling of uncertainty has remained. Although what I have learned, both at UMD and on my own, about agriculture has been supportive of what I am learning here at the Wye, Organic Chemistry can only help so much when learning the practicalities of extension.
