Cheyenne and I were very excited for our tractor ride with Jeff. |
With the county fair starting this week, last week was very busy prepping for it. On Monday we started making signs for various things at the fair as well as taking things up to the fairgrounds. I also sorted Ag Expo t-shirts for all the exhibitors and sponsors. Tuesday, we worked on some more things for the fair at the extension office in the morning, then we had a pasture walk at WMREC in the evening. We had about 30 people attend and we showed them what we have been doing with the sheep and cows and our rotational grazing system. Afterwards we had an amazing meal of tacos prepared by Laura Kefauver, where we were able to hangout and chat with everyone after. On Wednesday, I got all the market sale bidder numbers cut and ready for the sale. In the evening, we had an exhibitor meeting up at the fairgrounds just to go over some things and answer any questions. Thursday, we set up the AG-ventures tent and I also started writing an article for the state dairy newsletter. Friday was very busy with the fair starting that evening. In the morning we set up the home arts building, and then we needed plants for the AG-ventures tent. So, Jeff and I went to WMREC and “borrowed” some soybeans and corn out of the fields.

I am really looking forward to the upcoming week because fair week is my favorite week of the year. From being an exhibitor to now working during the fair, I get to see it from a whole new perspective.
